Problem with the typical American diet, is excess: calories, sugar (calories), salt.
Solution: * Don’t eat so much * Eat less carbs * Minimize the sugar. Taste buds will adapt to a lower sweet tolerance * Low salt, unhealthy snacks have so much.

Will vary between individuals. Hard part is figuring out what works for you. So many diets, many are barely different, some are just off track. Some weight loss systems are very involved: counting calories, points, weighing food. I don’t weigh my food, but have figured out when I’m full, or haven’t had enough. Eat your fill and stop. Yummy is to excuse of excess. Can indulge in sweets, with very small quantities. Enough to enjoy; not a lot of calories, no guilt, nor stuffing yourself.
I’ve often thought, “How is this not gluttony.” Gluttony may imply a sever extreme, but my conscience may have realized my behavior was excessive, unhealthy.
